Company overview
Home for Good Dogs is a 100 foster-based New Jersey dog rescue based in Berkeley Heights, NJ. We have been able to save over 10,000 dogs in 11 years thanks to the financial support of our generous donors. We rescue homeless dogs from high-kill shelters in the South, socialize, care for, and provide them life-saving medical care at our property in Aiken, SC, transport them to our rescue in New Jersey, nurture them in our network of foster families and finally adopt them into loving homes – giving them a second chance at life.
Challenge
Mobile & desktop functionality overhaul
The Nelson-Atkins needed a major functionality overhaul. Their existing site wasn’t mobile responsive, which made it almost impossible for mobile users to navigate the site and view the art. In addition, the existing site made it difficult to manage their public events, fundraisers, seasonal art classes and online gift store.
Our challenge? Design a mobile-friendly site, revamp their event scheduling, integrate with their internal member relationship system, and improve their e-commerce experience – all while adhering to strict curator guidelines.
Mobile Adaptive Design
Adaptive web design uses a unique layout for each screen size. The layout used depends on the screen size used. For example, there could be a specific layout for mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers – each of which are designed in advance. This gave us more control over how images and information were visually represented on a mobile device.

Photo & Video
Making a statement with a looping homepage drone video
To capture the vastness of the Nelson-Atkins campus, only drone footage would do. Our videographers featured the beautiful aesthetic of the Nelson-Atkins which leads front and center on the homepage.
To complement the new site design, our photographers captured the beautiful, iconic features and details of the museum using interesting angles and state-of-the-art equipment.
A timeless Kansas City favorite
First and foremost, Kansas City is our home – which is why we poured all of our passion into this project. We kept it classy by placing the art front and center while making it easy to attend the museum’s events.
Outcome
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art now has both a mobile adaptive and a desktop website that seamlessly integrates with their internal system TNEW, which is perfect for the thousands of annual users and visitors.
With the implementation of Google Analytics, Lifted Logic set up goals for the Nelson Atkins. Now the museum has the ability to visualize their data and evaluate the performance of their website. We continue working with the Nelson-Atkins Museum on an ongoing basis to empower them to provide the best online experience.
